Christine Barnes has written exhaustively about the National Park lodges in the western US and the railroad lodges in Canada. Her books compliment the PBS series "Great Lodges . . .; they are featured at this site.
Here's a really well done site about the history of Yellowstone National Park's Old Faithful Inn - upon which Disney's Wilderness Lodge was modeled. Check out the great photos!
